CANCER - TODAYS SILENT KILLER by Melvin Page, D.D.S. In the field of research the sixty-four dollar question is what causes cancer/ How can it be cured. How can it be prevented? Medical groups all over the world are seeking the answer at great cost both in money and labor. As the incidence of this dread disease changes to increasing numbers the problem becomes a poignantly personal one in hundreds of thousands of families across the land. As I have researched the causes and prevention of degenerative disease, I have a vital interest in the problem, The medical profession as a whole is seeking for the answers among the miracle drugs and serums, plus constant dependence upon surgery, x-ray, radium, etc. They have not proven the cause; treatment is too often merely amelioration. Among the findings of the medical profession is the establishment between the need for female hormone, estrogen, to assist in controlling cancer of the prostate in men, and either estrogen and testosterone, male hormone. To assist in controlling cancer of the breast in women. Published case histories of patients so treated is prima-facie evidence that the medical profession acknowledges that at least part of t8he answer to cause, cure, and prevention of cancer may lie in the field of endocrine dysfunction. It is my belief that records accumulating in our files, will greatly enlarge the link between cancer and endocrine dysfunction. I do not claim a cure or treatment for cancer: nor diagnose its presence through our blood tests; but our cases can show definite correlation between endocrine patterns and the presence of family6 history of cancer. Furthermore, where correlation of inefficiency of body chemistry has been achieved in patients with active cancer, the indirect effects upon the disease are startling and gratifying. The significance of what is developing cannot be ignored. I, therefore, feel morally obligated in the interest of public welfare to spend whatever time and money may be required for a professional review of these records. As you well know, cancer strikes in many parts of the body. Among our patients we have cases previously diagnosed by the medical profession as having cancer of the liver, the blood, the mouth, the skin, cancer of the prostate, the stomach, and the intestines. Since my work is not treatment of disease symptoms, but rather correction of the inefficiency of body chemistry, treatment procedure is based on body measurement, and blood analyses. It consists of corrected diet, and inhibition or supplementation of endocrine function as suggested by the endocrine pattern and proven beneficial through corrected blood balances. When maximum efficiency of the body chemistry is achieved and maintained, the bodys own ability to resist a hostile environment, or to cope with previously acquired ills is amazingly strengthened. What better way to illustrate this fact than to report that the cancer of the liver case, doomed by the medical profession to die within three months, is still living and working. The cancer of the mouth patient is reported in good health. The leukemia and melanoma patient, who was given only two months to live was instead ordered by her physician to return to work a year and a half ago, and is still going strong. The cancer of the prostate seven years later was found by biopsy to have no further malignancy. The skin cancer patient - cancer disappeared. The patient with cancer of the intestine, once so serious as to be considered inoperable, has survived two operations for obstruction within the past year, and is up and about. The cancer of the stomach patient, though a recent one, shows evidence of increased fighting ability within his own mechanism. Remember, we are not claiming either diagnosis, cure or treatment of cancer, but we are suggesting quite pointedly so that the search for a serum or miracle drug for cancer is not the proper source to seek for its cure and prevention; that the use of surgery, x-ray and radium, all destructive of bodily efficiency, may not be the only aid available; that amelioration of cancer symptoms need no longer appease the public; that cancer is not a disease of bacterial origin; that the answer to the control and prevention of this dread scourge may be within the body itself, an improper supply of raw materials (food), and /or a faulty mechanism of utilization (the endocrines). In our files, the correlation of our findings, lie invaluable clues for those scientists who are ever alert to see new relationships who are ever alert to see new relationships between already known facts, for those who think and act with vigor that others may be served.
