Chronic Pain Relief Since I broke my back this past winter with compressed fractures of two vertabrae this info may be relevant. The medical treatment was to take pain pills and live with it until it heals. I would suggest the following treatment, a good chiropractor or learn the 24-106 movements of Tai Chi which have chiropractic adjustments built into them. I knew the Tai Chi but was taking indocin for pain which I was still having. Then I remembered a technique that I had learned years earlier but seldom used. It's called Nei Gung and I learned it from B.K. Francis' book Opening the Energy Gates of the Body. It requires no equipment and you can sit down or lie down and do it. You simply visualize energy moving from your head, through your body and out through your feet. As you come to a sore spot visualize the area as ice and then dissolve it to water and then to gas and keep moving downward. It takes a little practice. It's a form of mental accupuncture and it works. Do it every day, along with Tai Chi or chiropractic and voila no more pain pills. |
