DR. MELVIN PAGE D.D.S Melvin Page D.D.S, was born in Pennsylvania, the son of a physician. When he was 12 years old his father died and his mother moved with Melvin and his two brothers to Michigan. There he worked his way through college and became a teacher. He later went to dental school and became a prominent prosthodontist (specializing in crowns and bridgework). Melvins two brothers became successful inventors. Melvin, later became an inventor of a different nature, in his own right. Because of crippling arthritis , often confining him to bed, Dr. Page decided to move to Florida after practicing dentistry for twenty years in Michigan. There he sought a solution for his own arthritis problems. Dr. Melvin Page was inspired by the work of Westin Price, D.D.S. who studied the dietary habits of primitive civilizations and noted degenerative changes as a modern diet was introduced to their culture. Dr. Price wrote Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. Dr. Page added to the work of Dr Price . Dr. Price believed that irregularities in calcium and phosphorus values led to degenerative disease. Dr Page found that it was the ratio of these two values that was important (an ideal ratio of Calcium/Phosphorous being 2 1/2:1). This ratio was then used by Dr. Page to determine correct supplement dosages. Dr. Pages concept of body measurement to determine inherited glandular pattern was also an ingenious leap forward. It provides a quick and easy way to determine slight glandular imbalances that are often overlooked but which can lead to serious and deadly degenerative diseases. These two findings are two of the most revolutionary and beneficial advances of our time and may also be one of the worlds best kept secrets. Dr Pages dietary recommendations are also over 40 years old, yet they often promoted by nutritional authorities today as if they were some new revelation. Dr Page was there years before. I met and studied with Dr Page in the 70s , a lean man in his eighth decade with piercing blue eyes. He was a living example of the results of his work remaining active and healthy until his death in 1983 at the age of 93.
