Giants in Nutrition

Most people and many dentists don’t know that the giants in nutrition in the past fifty years were all dentists, Westin Price, Melvin Page, and Royal Lee. Their works are preserved at the International Foundation For Nutrition and Health, www.ifnh.org. At this foundation they are not interested in reinventing the wheel. They believe that most of the significant work in diet and nutrition has already been done. I was privledged to know and study with Dr. Page.

I call them Pageisms, but some of Dr Page's quotes are, “Be glad if you are a hypochondriac. It’s probably your internal radar telling you that something is wrong.” TDIE – the diet is everything” Of those who didn’t seek his treatment, “Their knees aren’t bloody enough (from crawling on their hands and knees to seek help).

Though Page went to the University of Michigan a group of dentists at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry dedicated The Page Diagnostic Wing at the school in his honor. Though he died in 1983 at the age of 93 his work lives on. More will be heard of it in the future as his treatments for cancer, diabetes, arthritis, depression and manic depression, periodontal disease, and osteoporosis become better known. They are part of the answer for higher healthcare and drug costs. It works.

Before he died Page trained 275 physicians and dentists in his technique. Most of those have passed on or are retired. I am the only one teaching the Page technique in the U.S. I have had students from all over the world. This is the least that I can do to give back since the Page technique has helped me and my family and hundreds of patients.
