Head and Neck Pain and Sinusitis
Dr.Page was always concerned about infection when doing his
testing for hormone supplements because infection throws off the calcium and phosphorus
values making the correct dosage harder to determine. People of my age and older used to
have their tonsils snatched for most any reason. Page believed that tonsil tags were often
left. He cites Dr. Otto Meyer of New York who said that only about 2% of tonsils are
removed completely. The remaining tonsil becomes covered with scar tissue so they become
secretory instead of excretory and do not drain into the throat as they should when they
become infected. Page says, "This puts such continuous and severe load on the
defensive forces of the body so that not even an efficient body chemistry can keep the
person entirely well. "He says that Dr Meyer states that this also causes a secondary
focus of infection (or phlebitis) in the veins of the head and neck.
I believe that this is the cause of many frontal headaches other head and neck pain and chronic sinusitis. Page felt that body chemistry balancing would help cure the phlebitis but not the continual source of infection. He recommended additional surgery to have the stubs completely removed. I have found several other ways to treat this. I have found that about 5 acupuncture treatments when baseball season starts and again when it ends works. This coincides with Spring and Fall allergy seasons. I have also found another simpler treatment acupressure around orbits of the eyes, on each side of the nose, at the temples, in front of and behind the ears and also in the ears, on the shoulders and neck, on the antibiotic point on the arm and on the valley point in the hand, sometimes several times a day. This is described in Mark Johnsons tape Tai Chi for Seniors, available at the Tai Chi for Health Institute 800-497-4244. It's better than taking pain medications and it works for me. |
